Knowledge of Human Development and Learning – The teacher understands how students learn and develop, and provides opportunities that support their intellectual, social, and personal development.
Performance Indicator #2.1 The online teacher understands the continuum of fully online to blended learning environments and creates unique opportunities and challenges for the learner.
- Blending the Lines Between What Happened and Imagination – I created this course as part for EDTECH 512. It includes a complete instructional design document that takes into account planning, evaluation, and instruction. Moodle was used to actually implement the course.

Performance Indicator #2.3 The online teacher demonstrates knowledge of motivational theories and how they are applied to online learning environments.
- ARCS Motivational Strategies – Citing Sources Correctly Using APA Style (ID Project) – I created this instructional design project for EDTECH 503. During the creation of this project, an ARCS motivational strategy table was created to help identify motivational strategies that could be used in the implementation of the course.
Performance Indicator #2.4 The online teacher constructs learning experiences that take into account students’ physical, social, emotional, moral, and cognitive development to influence learning and instructional decisions. {Physical (e.g., Repetitive Use Injuries, Back and Neck Strain); Sensory Development (e.g. Hearing, Vision, Computer Vision Syndrome, Ocular Lock); Conceptions of social space (e.g. Identity Formation, Community Formation, Autonomy); Emotional (e.g. Isolation, cyber-bullying); Moral (i.e. Enigmatic communities, Disinhibition effect, Cognitive, Creativity)}.
- Principles of Online Instruction – I created this guide as part of my course work for EDTECH 523 and Boise State University. The four main principles, in my opinion, represent the four major components of any classroom. They are even more important in an online classroom. I use these strategies in my current position working with adult learners online.
